Take Our Kids to Work
"Take Our Kids to Work" is a national program in which thousands of Grade 9 students spend the day at work job shadowing a parent, relative, friend or volunteer host. This event takes place in November. It is sponsored by a non-profit organization, The Learning Partnership, which is dedicated to supporting educational programs in Canada.
The benefit of the “Take Our Kids to Work” Program is that students understand the importance of staying in school and getting a high school diploma. They also learn about the skills required in today's workplaces. Also, it helps students develop an awareness of, and an appreciation for, their parents' role in making a living and supporting their family.
